At age 12, growing up in Johnston, Rhode Island, Giovanni wrote a letter to radio legend and 92 PRO-FM personality Salty Brine.  Soon after, Salty personally called and invited him to the visit the station.  "It was an incredible experience and really focused me on pursuing radio. In high school instead of doing my homework, I would setup my own studio at home and practice being a DJ."

 

After years of calling into his favorite shows, in 1973, he was asked to be an intern for the late night show on 92 PRO-FM.  It worked - his foot was now literally in the door at his favorite station.  In 1974 he began as an assistant to the Program Director.

 

In December of 1974, a weekend DJ called in sick...or as Gio calls it, "the biggest opportunity of my life to fill in for him on-air."  He never looked back and has become a legendary voice and staple in the local market.

 

Since 1999, Giovanni has been paired with co-host Kim Zandy as the most listened to Morning Show in the market.
