Fans eagerly waited for what was to come from this tour, and they certainly were not disappointed!

As the Death Of A Bachelor Tour kicked off with it’s opening night right here at Mohegan Sun, the arena had no idea what to expect from the band on this round of shows. Right from the start the show had you on your feet, with confetti canons kicking off the opening number, “Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time”, and the consistent high energy stayed through the whole show. Flames shot and danced from the stage, perfectly choreographed to the rhythm of the music played by the band, who you could tell were happy to be on the road again!

The band played through their hits off of the tour’s titled album, Death Of A Bachelor, and gave us a few throwbacks mixed in like “Nine in the afternoon”, “Miss Jackson”, and others. Following “Miss Jackson” the stage went empty as a video played on the screen, distracting concert goers of what was to come. Spot lights then lit up the back of the concert floor and Brendon Urie was sitting on a piano placed behind the sound booth. As he started playing his acoustic version of “This Is Gospel” his piano rose into the air, spinning, and confetti fluttered down from above, creating one of the more memorable moments from the show. That and the band’s rocking cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” which came after a touching moment where Brendon discussed his support and fear for members of the LGBT community through tough times.

The show had a refreshing balance of covers mixed in. Aside from “Bohemian Rhapsody”, they played “Starboy” by The Weeknd, and Brendon rocked out a drum solo for a mashup of “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars, and “B*tch Better Have My Money” by Rihanna.

Unlike most tours, this show did NOT have an encore performance by the band. They played “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and their other hit “Victorious” as the last 2 songs of the set and closed the show!

Many fans I’ve talked to after the show said this was by far their best tour to date, between the talent of the musicians, the budget for the set / special effects, and the music from their latest album made for a rocking show that had people singing and dancing along from start to finish!
